SAMANTHA WILLIAMS, B.S., INTERN

Samantha is a Marriage & Family Therapy Intern at Capella University and a dedicated clinician trainee with a passion for fostering connection, understanding, and growth in a safe therapeutic space. Her approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate, blending structure, curiosity, and warmth to help individuals, couples, and families strengthen communication, build emotional balance, and navigate life’s challenges with resilience and insight.

Samantha’s work is informed by Bowen Family Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, and behavioral principles, which guide her in attending to both relational patterns and practical, meaningful steps toward change. She strives to create an environment where clients feel genuinely seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Whether addressing family dynamics, life transitions, emotional regulation, or personal challenges, Samantha meets clients where they are, with empathy, respect, and thoughtful presence.

In addition to her clinical training, Samantha brings more than a decade of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, grounding her practice in cultural humility, patience, and reflective care. She values the opportunity to learn alongside experienced clinicians and is grateful for the privilege of supporting clients on their healing journeys.

Samantha earned her Bachelor of Science in Vocational Rehabilitation with a minor in Special Education from the University of Arizona and holds a graduate certificate in Contemporary Mental Health Services. She continues her graduate training at Capella University, where she is completing her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a United States Air Force veteran.

As a Student Intern, Samantha receives direct and clinical supervision from an AZBBHE approved clinical supervisor, Danica Williams, MA, LPC, PMH-C (danica@novusleaf.sprucecare.com, 520-492.0492). Her work is logged, monitored, discussed, and reviewed by her clinical supervisor. Client care is handled with professional quality; knowledge, feedback, and insight are gained from a team of professionals. Counselor accountability, growth, and development within this supportive infrastructure is emphasized.

Therapy is not a one-size fits all.

Samantha views therapy as a purposeful partnership focused on helping clients better understand themselves and move forward with intention. She recognizes that each person comes to therapy with their own history, challenges, and hopes for change, and she adapts her approach to align with what will be most supportive and effective for each individual. Her style is warm, grounded, and relational, creating an atmosphere where clients feel at ease engaging in honest reflection and growth.

Samantha is committed to creating a space where clients feel respected, validated, and empowered. Sessions are shaped by active listening and collaboration, with attention to each client’s strengths, values, and personal goals. Whether individuals are navigating emotional overwhelm, adjusting to new phases of life, processing difficult experiences, or developing healthier coping patterns, she offers steady guidance and practical tools to support clarity, confidence, and lasting change.
